I took a few days off because the barrage of negative acts enacted by the President became a bit much but pleasingly when I returned today to Twitter, I found that there no fewer than 24 accounts that are believed to be “rogue” groups of employees from various government agencies, including the fucking White House itself!
A part of Trump’s success would be because Obama’s administration did not do enough – even without being critical of his administration, it’s possible to hypothesize that specific actions could have changed the narrative just that little bit.
He could have pursued a better foreign policy in Syria; he could have jailed more bankers; he could have made ARRA into a bigger stimulus package, or let it run a bit longer; etc.
At any rate, it’s worth it to me to keep track of specific reports of what did not go well in the Obama years. So here goes.
Jan 21 – pretty successful day for left wing protests. Possibly largest mass protest in the US, coordinated across dozens of cities…
Here are some things that are worth tracking over time:
- The most useful thing was to know that I could help with flipping CA-10, thanks to SwingLeft.org. I intend to try and talk to or meet the creators.
- Then I noticed in short order that someone else started ActionGroups.net
- People are suggesting on Twitter, that we protest on Tax Day. Great idea, especially as the last time this happened, in 2009, it was the Tea Party (see screenshot below for what it looks like today.) Lots to learn from their obstructionism.
